The Alumni Council
The Alumni Council (The Steering Committee) is the primary representative body of Alexandria FoE (Faculty of Engineering) alumni. Its fundamental goal is to promote the advancement of the FoE in the world. Totaling nine members (4 members from the FoE* and 4 from the Alumni Association** in addition to the representative of the local Professional Engineering Syndicate) at any given time; the Council represents an array of architecture and engineering design fields, ages and regions throughout the country and the world. They are distinguished practitioners and academics who are highly engaged in the issues of the day and tend to be heavily involved in professional, governmental, civic, and business affairs in their communities.
Council members provide a strong link between the confines of the FoE (Faculty of Engineering) and the “real world” beyond. They contribute to the welfare of the School by connecting alumni and students, and by representing excellence in their chosen professions, which reflect the School’s programs.
The mission of the Council is to:
- Facilitate communication among Alexandria FoE students, alumni and the “real world”;
- Encourage alumni participation in ensuring the financial strength of the FoE, especially supporting student scholarships
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of superior prospective students, particularly suitable candidates, for admission to the SSP division of FoE;
- Assist students with their professional growth through mentorship, internship, networking and recruitment programs
