On Wednesday and Thursday April 1st, 2nd, 2009, The Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology arranged a seminar inside Faculty of Engineering. The seminar entitled “Energy and Environmental Engineering”. The seminar has been attended by Faculty members and graduate students of Mechanical Production and Chemical Engineering students. The first day was opened by a welcome speech by Prof. Ahmed Khairy – EJUST Manager, followed by illustration by Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and Staff about current department research. Afterwards, the Visiting Japanese Professors of Tokyo Institute of Technology gave lectures about the following :

1 – “Mechanistic Photo-Claisen Rearrangement Reaction” by Prof. Teijiro ICHIMURA.

2 – “Recent Progress on photoreactions in Micro Reactors” by Prof. Massaaki SUZUKI.

3 – “Creativity developing education” by Prof. Chitoshi MIKI.

The seminar has been concluded by noon of Thursday April 2nd, 2009 and an open discussion between Visiting Japanese Professors and Alexandria University Engineering graduate students about possible registration for higher studies at Egypt Japan University of Science and Technology in its temporary location at Borg El-Arab city.
